The Summary

Lady Emily Hardcastle is a widow with an unusual and enigmatic past. In 1908, she relocates to a rural part of Gloucestershire with the intention of leading a quiet life there. However, when she and her maid discover a body in the woods, they become involved in a murder investigation, which leads them on a fun new route as amateur sleuths.

These are Lady Hardcastle's first adventures, in which she and her devoted lady's maid Florence Armstrong struggle to solve four mysteries. When a supposedly suicide turns out to be something else entirely, The Body in the Woods sets them on their new course. The amateur detectives must find a multiple murderer who has turned the lives of the traveling entertainers upside down when The Circus Comes to Town, when they run across an old buddy.

Will she be able to apprehend the offender and uncover any surprises nearby? The narrative starts here.

My Review

Characters, setting, and plot are all fascinating. cases of mystery, which are typically found everywhere. However, the tale I have to share is regrettably somewhat dull and less interesting.

Although I am aware that we should read it calmly while sipping tea, I wish there had been more suspense and intrigue in the plot because everything else, aside from the development was great.

Because I enjoy reading historical fiction that is set in the 1900s, I will surely give the author's other series a shot.
