The Summary

Because of Piper Bellinger's reputation as a wild child and her influence in the fashion world, paparazzi follow her everywhere she goes. When Piper ends up in jail after drinking too much champagne and throwing an unruly rooftop party, her stepfather thinks enough is enough. He then interrupts her and assigns Piper and her sister the duties of managing their late father's dive bar in Washington while he is gone.

After only five minutes in Westport, Piper runs into the big, bearded sea captain Brendan. Brendan fears that she won't make it through a week away from Beverly Hills. Though it's a small town, Brendan follows her everywhere. The fun-loving socialite and the stern fisherman are polar opposites, but there is an undeniable affinity between them.

My Review

OMG!! This book's first page made it clear to me that I would immediately fall in love with it, and I was right. You may describe it as sensual, adorable, sparkly, hot, or anything else.

Everything is exquisitely finished. The dialogue, characters, narrative, and environment really make you feel like the main role in a Hollywood film. The female lead character, Piper, may initially make you uneasy, but when you take into account how she develops and her environment, you can't hold that against her.

The way the characters change throughout is what I enjoy most about this. Piper is a selfish, unpleasant girl, as I previously stated, but there is a reason for it, and the way she began to evolve and realize she was wrong is such a significant development that was beautifully handled without being rushed or dragged out.

Oh well, Brendan is unquestionably the major male character that readers strive for in their books and in real life. His gentleness is unmatched.

I'm so glad I came across this book! I can't wait to read the sequel, which is about her sister's life, as it is one of the best romances you can read right now in the summer.
