The Summary

The town now has a new sheriff...

He is her biggest nightmare, too.

Ben is hiding a truth. A large one. The longer he stays in Shell Grove and is surrounded by people who are aware of his dark past, the more likely it is that his secret will be revealed. Olivia won't ever speak to him again if it does, though. which is unacceptable. He's finally come to the realization that Olivia is the reason he returned to town in the first place. And if he doesn't want to permanently lose her, he must make up for the errors he committed in the past and disprove the notion that he is the NEMESIS she has always believed him to be.

My Review

I thought this book was pretty good. It was hot, chemistry-driven, enjoyable, and spicy. Even though it did feature some foes, this book seemed different from others that used the cliché of enemies and allies with advantages.

High school enemies Ben and Olivia eventually ran across each other in an unusual circumstance as adults. They responded with hate when they realized who the other was because it was all they knew how to do. They were unable to ignore their increasing chemistry, though.

The two were engaging in some hilarious conversation. Reading how precisely they knew how to anger one another and what triggers to strike was extremely fascinating. It was endearing, funny, and gorgeous. I could feel the excitement between them.

If that makes sense, I think the writing is great. It reads more like seeing a movie through a book than like a reader reading a book. The story's pacing bothered me because there wasn't enough development for the characters' alleged "hate" of one another. In the post-getting together phase of the story, there need to have been a little more plot development rather than just continual steam.

Overall, romcom enthusiasts will like this sweet, straightforward love story.
