He therefore has nothing to lose by applying when his sister Fizz, who is keen for Barney to find his soulmate, spots an advertisement for Love on the Farm, a new reality TV show to assist farmers in finding love. After all, he isn't approaching anyone acceptable by the conventional route, and he won't be chosen anyhow, right?

Barney could never have imagined that after being thrown into the pandemonium of reality TV, his entire life would be turned upside down, with hidden truths to be revealed and his heart on the line. Could the enchantment of Bumblebee Barn mend his shattered heart and assist him in finding love on the farm with the support of his family and friends?

My Review

What a wonderful story! I found Healing Hearts to be such a nice and comforting read, and I got sucked into the story fully. Much more than just a farmer finding love on television is included in the book's plot. The plot grew more complex when family dynamics and the past were introduced.

Amber is a TV producer who usually steers clear of reality shows. When asked to take part in a program that linked farmers, she originally declined, but she ultimately agreed when it meant she could be closer to her younger sister, who needed her. It turns out to be much worse than she expected, save for meeting Barney, the farmer cast to fall in love.

Narrated by the two main characters, Barney and Amber. The two characters, who are brought together for a new reality show, obviously have troubled pasts. Barney was able to give Amber the chance for closure and allow her to go forward with him for the future they both want as a result of seeing how their relationship developed and the fact that Amber maintained her professionalism throughout. It was really delightful.

Even if it diverges from the typical reality dating show premise, the result is nonetheless rather unexpected. The personalities were interesting and amazing. The romance is exactly the right amount, leaving you wanting more. The place radiates a fantastic sense of comfort and the writing is superb.

I've only read this author's one book, but I'll definitely read the others as well. This was an all around great and charming story!
