My Review

It's the perfect book to read on a trip or on a summer vacation since it's quick to pick up and go, yet it still manages to grab you and keep you interested in finding out what happens. A simple read that also makes you long to be on a beautiful island.

The story's use of the present tense required some getting accustomed to, but the premise is interesting enough to keep readers turning the pages. The story does take some fascinating turns from time to time. The superb environment and character development were very enjoyable to me. There are, however, a few elements of the novel that I don't particularly enjoy.

Although it's not a horrible book, the writing style bothered me at first, and I later discovered that there were passages where it read more like a script than a book. If I'm being absolutely honest, I thought the book was dull and had little to do with a tale. So if you prefer your reading to have a dramatic or climactic climax, this book might not be for you.

In short, I would suggest this book if you want to switch up your normal heavy read or you're seeking for a more relaxed, cozy read without a lot of drama while enjoying a tropical location.
