My Review

Such a beautiful, yet heartbreaking, story. I'm not sure how to express it well, but this book has made me cry a lot. A soothing, comforting story that is ideal to read before bed.

I'm actually feeling conflicted, but in a nice way. Despite the writing's simplicity, World War II can be brought to mind, and you may experience a deep sense of loss. I was mistaken when I initially assumed that the focus of this book was primarily on the dragon legends. It is about a family, friendship, suffering, secrets, and all of the things that happened, particularly after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Excellent work was done on the characters, setting, plot, tempo, and storytelling. I truly appreciate the author for forcing us to learn about culture in addition to values.

If you enjoy historical fiction with a cultural component and a legend, I highly recommend this.
