The Summary
August, a pessimistic 23-year-old, is meant to be proven correct that magic and romantic movies don't exist by moving to New York City.
Then, though, he encounters this stunning girl on the train.
Jane. Amazing, endearing, enigmatic, and difficult Jane. With her angular features, swoopy hair, and gentle smile.
August's crush on a fellow commuter turns into the highlight of her day, but she quickly realizes there is one major issue: Jane has been transported back to the 1970s, and August will need to use all of the things she wanted to leave in the past to assist Jane. It might be time to start having some faith after all.
My Review
I recently finished reading Casey McQuiston's second book, and I immediately fell in love with it! Already in the first chapter, I was chuckling. In all honesty, although having a completely different plot, this book makes me think of a favorite Taiwanese film in the same genre.
It was both adorable and funny. Despite at times feeling a little slow, this book is undoubtedly wonderful and sweet. The variety of characters greatly enhances each other's excellence. I truly adore this more than Red, White, and Royal Blue. It's very beautifully written.
Overall, it is a light romcom that you can put on your next list, but if you are not interested in or knowledgeable in genres like time travel, the paranormal, sci-fi, and other topics, it can be a little challenging.
But it's still a quick, enjoyable read.
My ratings score:
★★★★★ Fantastic! Made me go through a lot of emotions & the entire book is incredibly beautifully done!
★★★★ Memorable! Despite its shortcomings, this book was incredible and taught us a lot.
★★★ Good work! Nothing particularly remarkable, but still nice.
★★ Meh... Mediocre with great room for improvement.
★ Extremely Poor.
